Long’s Pine Grove is a 3.7-acre park and open space property located in the Four Square Mile neighborhood at 1523 S Uinta Way (corner of S Uinta Way and Florida Avenue). The park provides a new trailhead and access point for the High Line Canal Trail, as well as restrooms, picnic areas, playground for 2- to 5-year-olds, playground for 5- to 12-year-olds, large turf area, natural area, and a short walking path.
The park slopes from east to west and provides incredible views of the Colorado Front Range. Significant stands of mature pine trees give the site its name and create a distinctive “woodsy” atmosphere.
The park’s family-oriented and ADA-accessible amenities accommodate visitors of all ages, groups, and sizes.
Arapahoe County purchased the property in 2014 and created a site plan in 2017-18 using input from public comments, surveys, and meetings. The park opened in July 2020.
