[ARCHIVED] UPDATE: Driver Has Turned Himself In

Just before 2 a.m. today, a man believed to have been involved in last night’s deadly hit and run turned himself in at Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office headquarters.


No additional information will be available on either the suspect or the victim until later in the day. See original media release below for previously released details.

ACSO Investigating Fatal Hit and Run Crash


The Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal auto vs. pedestrian crash that occurred just after 8:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 25, in the 11000 block of E. Arapahoe Road, between Joliet Street and S. Lima Street. Deputies were called to the area on a medical assist of a person laying in the roadway. The man was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

While the investigation is still in the early stages, investigators believe the man was struck by a vehicle which then left the scene. Investigators are looking for anyone who was in the area at the time who may have seen the crash or anything suspicious. The victim is an adult male. No additional information is available about him at this time.
