[ARCHIVED] Suspect Sought in Shooting

The Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a suspect in a shooting that occurred at about 4:21 p.m. in the 5900 block of E. Leetsdale Drive. Two victims were transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries and one suspect is at large. Due to the location, the Denver Police Department started the investigation but was able to determine the circumstances leading up to the shooting started in our jurisdiction.

Investigators have determined that a confrontation occurred in the 1000 block of S. Parker Road between the two male victims and a third man. The suspect shot at the two victims while they were at that location. The victims fled in their vehicle and the suspect followed.

Another confrontation occurred in the 5900 block of Leetsdale Dr., when the suspect got out of his vehicle and shot at the victims again. The victims ran to an area business and the suspect left the area.

The suspect is a heavy-set Hispanic male, about 230 pounds. He is bald and was wearing a bright green T-shirt. His vehicle is described as a hunter green sedan, possibly a 1990s Buick.

Given the time of day and location of the shooting, investigators are confident that there are additional witnesses to this shooting. Anyone who witnessed the shooting, or with information about the suspect or his whereabouts is asked to contact 303-795-4711 immediately.

No additional information is available regarding victim conditions or what started the confrontation.
