[ARCHIVED] Arrest Made in Fraud Case with 92-Year-Old Victim

Thanks to the numerous tips that we received from the community and other law enforcement agencies, the suspect in the mail theft and fraud from our Crime Stoppers release on May 16, 2016 has been arrested.

Through tips and other investigative methods, he was identified as 53-year-old John Nickson Beers II, of Westminster. He was taken into custody in Aurora just before 4 p.m. on Tuesday, May 24, by Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Apprehension deputies on a warrant out of Boulder. The warrant from Boulder was for identity theft and forgery. Beers was booked into the Arapahoe County Detention Facility on the warrant and on charges of identity theft and forgery in our case. His bond is $50,000 on the Arapahoe County case and $5,000 on the warrant. He is scheduled to appear in court this morning at 9:30 a.m.

The case remains open as investigators are continuing their investigation into the suspect’s activity.
