Grant funds available to nonprofit agencies with food programs in Arapahoe County

Arapahoe County Human Services has a great opportunity for nonprofit agencies with food programs to be a potential partner in our American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) COVID-19 Nonprofit Impact Assistance Grant program.

Food banks and Meals on Wheels programs are among the organizations that experienced increased service demands since the COVID-19 pandemic began.

This relief program provides an opportunity for groups such as these to meet increased demand and better support Arapahoe County residents, by applying for Arapahoe County grant funding to purchase food, supplies, equipment, Protective Personal Equipment (PPE), and other verified items needed to scale up your operations.  All applicants for this ARPA grant funding must clearly demonstrate that there is increased need and costs related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

NOTE: While there is no application deadline for this program, it will close when funds are no longer available. Applications are first-come, first-served, so early submissions are highly encouraged.

The ARPA COVID-19 Nonprofit Impact Assistance Grant program funds must be expended by Dec. 15, 2023; any funds not used by this date will be returned to the County. It is important to note that these are one-time funds that will be awarded to organizations that serve Arapahoe County residents. We do not anticipate additional funding opportunities once these awards have been allocated.

To qualify, your organization must be designated a 501c3 and clearly demonstrate that you have experienced increased need and expenditures related to COVID-19. The application requires details such as a summary of your work, the population(s) you serve and any other agencies you partner with, a description of how the COVID crisis has impacted your work, information about your budget and finances, and what provisions you have in place to ensure that your agency can effectively administer the relief funds.

If you have any questions, or if you know of any similar agencies or programs that might benefit from this assistance, please contact Georjette Dhliwayo at GDhliwayo@arapahoegov.com
