CENTENNIAL – The Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office, together with Summit Church, will hold a Sunday Service and Community Forum titled “Stronger Together.” The event will be held during National Faith & Blue Weekend, October 7-10, when law enforcement agencies across the U.S. will partner with faith-based organizations to help strengthen relationships and build stronger communities. The event is free, open to the public and people of all faiths are invited to attend.
The event will consist of a panel discussion on how law enforcement can work together with residents and businesses to build mutual trust and respect among those we serve. The panel will include:
- Sheriff Tyler Brown, Arapahoe County Sheriff
- Qusair Mohamedbhai, Civil Rights Attorney
- Omar Montgomery, President, Aurora Branch of the NAACP
- Sgt. Edred Bryan II, Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office
“Our hope is to build better and safer communities in Arapahoe County and we can do that by engaging our law enforcement professionals with our citizens to transform our neighborhoods. If we can build that respect and trust through faith-based groups, I believe we will thrive as an agency and as a community,” says Arapahoe Sheriff Tyler Brown.
After the service, we invite everyone to stay for a free BBQ lunch. Deputies will stay to meet and interact with the community and open up dialog. We'll also showcase some of our department resources such as our K9 unit, mounted patrol horses and school therapy dogs.
The event will be livestreamed on our Facebook page and YouTube channel. Watch this video to learn more about Faith & Blue or visit www.faithandblue.org
