In recognition of the critical role workforce development services play in Colorado’s commitment to support a thriving environment for workers and employers throughout the state, Governor Jared Polis has proclaimed September Workforce Development Month.
Our own Arapahoe/Douglas Works! (ADW!) Workforce Center plays a vital role in our regional economic infrastructure by providing programs and services at no cost to individuals and businesses.
For job seekers, ADW! provides a walk-in resource center, one-on-one assistance, job fairs, hiring events, and workshops, as well as targeted programs to help veterans, young adults, and persons with disabilities. Businesses can access thousands of jobseekers and participate in workshops and paid internship programs.
Between April 1, 2020, and March 31, 2021, ADW! had an aggregate economic impact of more than $104 million on our area’s economy. For every $1 public dollar spent through ADW!, the return was $8.02 in new worker earnings directly attributable to the value of our services.
