During the week of July 11, the Clerk and Recorder’s Office will livestream two important post-election processes that ensure transparency and accuracy.
July 12: Risk-Limiting Audit
On July 12, the Elections Division will conduct the risk-limiting audit, a process conducted after every election to ensure that vote totals from paper ballots match official records. During the audit, bipartisan representatives appointed by the County’s major political parties work together to compare randomly selected paper ballots to electronic records of the election. The process is explained in detail in this short video.
July 15: Bipartisan Canvass Board
On July 15, bipartisan representatives from each major party will meet with Deputy Director of Elections Peg Perl and Clerk and Recorder Joan Lopez to review a summary of data and processes from the Primary Election, then certify results, officially ending the Primary Election. Video of this process will be uploaded to the ArapahoeVotes.gov Transparency page.
Both events can be viewed in real time on the Clerk and Recorder Facebook page, beginning at 9 a.m. both days.
