The Board of County Commissioners’ public hearing for the proposed rezoning of the Potter’s House Church property within the Four Square Mile Neighborhood will be held during its second meeting in May. 

The hearing is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. May 24 at the Administration Building, 5334 S. Prince St., in Littleton. 

Norris Design, on behalf of DHI Communities, has submitted applications to the county’s Planning division to rezone the property through General Development and Specific Development plans. 

The proposed redevelopment of the church property includes a five-acre park, along with 345 apartment units and 168 paired homes on the 32-acre property at 9495 E. Florida Ave. More information is available at www.arapahoegov.com/1456/Major-Planning-Cases

The BOCC’s public hearing is for the General Development Plan, which was approved by the Planning Commission on March 15. The Planning Commission public hearing for the Specific Development Plan has yet to be scheduled.

As the proposed development has been going through the County planning review process, the proposed park concept has included public participation. Norris Design has been working with the County’s Open Spaces staff on park planning and design. Outreach has included open houses and community surveys. If the development is approved by the County, project officials have said that construction could start later this year and take about 30 months to complete.
