County seeks feedback on Accessory Dwellings in unincorporated Arapahoe County

Attention residents of unincorporated Arapahoe County: Take our survey on "Mother-in-Law Dwellings" to help inform potential changes to the Land Development Code.

Arapahoe County wants your feedback on Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs), also known as “Mother-in-Law Dwellings." In recent years, the County has had several citizen requests to update the code to:

  • Allow ADUs that are attached, detached or within an existing dwelling
  • Expand zoning designations outside agriculture or rural residential
  • Allow properties smaller than 1.61 acres eligible for ADUs
  • Allow for non-family living, which could include caretakers, nannies or renters

Take the Survey on ADUs

The survey will close on Oct. 11. For additional information or questions contact Kelsea Dombrovski - – or call at 720-874-6854.
