Double Shooting Leaves One Man Dead

Aug. 2, 2018; 12:50 p.m.

Investigators from the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office are working the scene of a shooting that has left one man dead.

Deputies were called to the residence at about 8:30 a.m. on a report of shots being fired. On arrival, they found two people inside the home with apparent gunshot wounds. An adult female was transported to an area hospital. An adult male was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Investigators believe the shooting is related to a report of an assault at the home that occurred earlier today at about 4:15 a.m. Two people inside the home suffered minor injuries during the assault and the attacker fled before deputies arrived. The attacker was known to at least one person inside the residence. Investigators were actively attempting to locate him when they were dispatched back to the residence.

Investigators have identified the suspect in the homicide and earlier assault as 28-year-old Anthony “Angel” Darby. He may be associated with a red Hyundai Elantra 4-door sedan, with Colorado license plate 885-YXH. See the attached photos of the actual vehicle. The attached close-up photo of the suspect is a recent photo.

Darby should be considered armed and dangerous. Call 911 if you see him or the vehicle and do not approach. Anyone with information about Darby or his whereabouts, but wants to remain anonymous, can contact Crime Stoppers at 720-913 (STOP) 7867.

The name of the deceased male will be released by the Coroner’s Office, but not until all appropriate notifications have been made. The other victim is not being identified at this time.
