Aggressive Dogs

What is Aggression?

Animal Services will look into aggressive dogs that are involved in incidents including biting, chasing and charging at humans or pets. Some playful behaviors can be interpreted as aggressive and these behaviors can be discussed with an officer to determine if a violation has occurred.

Dog owners are responsible for any acts committed by an owned dog and are responsible to have any aggressive acts avoided. Animal Services can promote safety through education but any charges cannot be issued without a dog owner's dog committing an aggressive act against the county resolution.
