Responsibilities
The Community Resources Unit's responsibilities include:
Conducting security surveys of residential, commercial and industrial businesses.
Developing crime prevention displays and seminars for the community and businesses.
- Developing standardized architectural improvements for security design (crime prevention through environmental design.)
Working closely with Public Safety Bureau personnel to provide crime prevention materials and information.
Coordinating sheriff's office involvement in community events.
Purpose and Priorities
Four deputies are assigned as crime prevention specialists to provide educational programs and safety information to local businesses and homeowner associations. One deputy is assigned as the community event coordinator.
The Community Resources Unit's mission is to prevent crime and disorder by working closely with members of the sheriff's office and our community.
Crime prevention is a top priority for the sheriff's office, requiring the cooperation of law enforcement and the community, working together toward this common goal.
