Floodplain Management

Public Notice for Case No. EE20-006: The Arapahoe County Public Works and Development Department, in accordance with National Flood Insurance Program regulation 65.7(b)(1), hereby gives notice of the County’s intent to revise the flood hazard information, generally located between East Bayaud Ave and Gun Club Road. Specifically, the flood hazard information shall be revised along Coal Creek from a point approximately 300 feet downstream of E-470 to a point approximately 600 feet upstream of E-470. Floodplain Management

Review and evaluate building and construction activities adjacent to FEMA and community regulated floodplains. Floodplain Management staff issues Floodplain Development Permits within the county's jurisdiction. Staff coordinates floodplain activities with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to ensure that Arapahoe County complies with the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) to remain in good standing.
