Health Department 

Help support your community at the Public Health Englewood office. We’re seeking a volunteer receptionist to help direct phone calls, assist clients with sign-in, and accept deliveries. Hours are 2-3/days/week, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5p.m. Must commit to at least a six-month period. Use the Apply Now button below.

Arapahoe County Fair

Arapahoe County celebrates its Fair the last weekend of July each year at the Arapahoe County Fairgrounds at 25690 E. Quincy Ave., Aurora, CO 80016. The fair is an incredible value for families looking for a full day of laughter and good wholesome fun. Volunteer recruitment will open closer to the event.

Treat Street

Each year in October, the Arapahoe County Scaregrounds hosts an annual event for a day of trick-or-treating and spooktacular family fun. Wear your favorite costume and head down Treat Street. We’ll have games and activities, petting farm, live entertainment, costume contest, pumpkin painting, adult beverages, food trucks, and more! Volunteer recruitment will open closer to the event.

Visit the Village

Each year in December, the Arapahoe County Fairgrounds and Event Center hosts Visit the Village, where you can spend the day strolling through our local vendor village, making crafts, enjoying various children's activities, food, beverages, and more! Volunteer recruitment will open closer to the event.

Snow Shoveling for a Senior

For individuals in need of assistance, snowy walkways and driveways create a safety hazard and can even be life-threatening. This program will match you with a senior in need, within walking or short driving distance to your home. Your help will provide a genuinely needed service to your neighbor with the added bonus of a free, feel-good work-out! Use the Apply Now button below.

Ongoing Volunteer Opportunities

CSU Extension: 4-H Project Leader

4-H Organizational, Project, and Resource Leaders teach youth new skills in one or more project areas. 4-H has 270 project areas to choose from, including gardening, arts, sewing, photography, cooking, cake decorating, model rocketry, livestock, and horse showing. Leaders are responsible for organizing and directing club meetings, teaching skills, and supporting 4-H youth as they prepare to exhibit their project work at county contests or the County Fair. Leaders also teach valuable skills such as leadership, ethics, decision-making, record-keeping, responsibility, and community service.

  • Enrollment for new leaders begins every year in November. 
  • $5 first time and re-enrollment fee

Shoppers for Seniors 

Volunteers are paired with one or more seniors to help with weekly (or as needed) grocery store trips. The volunteer can also assist with putting groceries away, prescription pick-up, and mail pick-up. Use the Apply Now button below.

17 Mile House Farm Park

Family fun and educational events will start back up in April 2023. Visitors can step back in time at 17 Mile House, a 160-year old farm which served as an important resting stop for pioneers traveling on the Cherokee/Smoky Hill wagon trails in the 1860s. Volunteers lead tours, interpret historical and natural history, and provide hands-on experiences. Volunteers also create interpretive displays, maintain the gardens, and care for the historic collection of artifacts. Volunteer recruitment will open closer to the event.

Veterans Service Office

Office Volunteer: We are in need of several people to help answer phones, schedule appointments and provide resources to Veterans, scan documents, and other office duties. Office location is primarily in Littleton with the potential to be in Aurora. We are looking for someone to help 2-4 hours a day, Monday-Friday. Must be 18+. Use the Apply Now button below.

Special Events Volunteer: We host/attend several Veteran-specific events though out the year within the county. We'd love to have you help us with these one-time events. More details are released as the events arise.

Work-Study Volunteer: Work closely with our Veteran Service Office while you are in school to learn how the claims process works within the County and with the VA. This opportunity has the potential to be paid back for hours from the VA if eligible. Must be a student. Office location is primarily in Littleton with the potential to be in Aurora.
