Residential Permit Application Submittal Requirements
- Read and comply with the Permit guide
- Attach to the application:
- The manufacturer’s instructions for the water softener
- A description of the location where the water softener will be installed and the location of the GFCI-protected receptacle that will be used by the water softener
- Additional requirements and documentation
- A separate electrical permit, if a GFCI-protected receptacle is not available
- Any plumbing work that interconnects with potable water must be performed by a Colorado licensed plumbing contractor
- The softener discharge line must be installed at an approved location
- Verification of installer and contractor certification and compliance with Colorado State Plumbing Board requirements for all water conditioning installers and companies will be required. An Arapahoe County license is required
- Compliance with Arapahoe County's currently adopted codes, design criteria and amendments
- Attachments must comply with these requirements
- Complete your application using Customer Access
- Select the Residential Remodel > Residential Water Softener or search by ‘water softener’
- Pay for your permit online
- Estimate your fees
- Review the Fee Schedule
- A plans reviewer will check your application, plans, and attachments for completeness and accuracy before your permit is issued
- You may be contacted with questions or requests for revisions through the Customer Access Portal
