Residential Permit Application Submittal Requirements
Arapahoe County requires permit application for the following residential solar projects; roof mounted solar, ground mounted solar and roof solar shingles.
Use this submittal and checklist guide to submit your solar application for any of these three permits.
Please read the guide carefully and make sure you provide all information required within the checklist. Incomplete applications are returned to the applicant, causing delays for permit approval.
- Read and comply with the Residential Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Submittal Guide
- Attach to the application:
- A signed, dated and completed copy of the Residential Solar Photovoltaic Submittal Guide must be included with the application
- Site Plan
- Aerial view of the roof
- Engineer’s stamped attachment detail for roof mounts or rail mounts with the plans
- Electrical calculations
- Electrical one-line or three-line drawings
- Labeling page showing all labels to be installed and where they will be installed
- Manufacturer’s information
- A letter from a Colorado licensed engineer containing the evaluation of all the roof surfaces upon which the solar modules will be installed
- Optional attachments and requirements
- Specify the roof pitch, the Direct Current (DC) rating of the proposed system, the number of modules proposed, and the name of the serving electrical utility
- Compliance with Arapahoe County's currently adopted codes and amendments
- Attachments must comply with these requirements
- Complete your application using Customer Access
- Select the Residential Remodel > Residential Roof Mounted Solar or Search by ‘roof solar'
- Pay for your permit online
- Estimate your fees
- Review the Fee Schedule
- A Plans Reviewer will check your application, plans, and attachments for completeness and accuracy before your permit is issued
- You may be contacted with questions or requests for revisions through the Customer Access Portal
