Civil or Licensing Fingerprints

We can only take prints for organizations that have a vendor account set up with the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office.

Following Senate Bill 17-189, the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is implementing a new, statewide digital fingerprinting process known as CABS (Colorado Applicant Background Services).

As of Dec. 1, 2018, CBI no longer accepts the paper-and-ink fingerprinting cards that have been performed by most law enforcement agencies. The fingerprinting cards are being replaced with a state-of-the-art digital fingerprinting program that transmits fingerprints directly to CBI through a secure, online connection.

The Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office is in the process of creating an electronic fingerprinting program that will transmit fingerprints directly to CBI. In order to stay compliant, CBI requires that each business wanting to have employees fingerprinted will need to have an account set up through each vendor before the fingerprints can be taken.

Employees for organizations who have completed their vendor sign-up can get fingerprints taken at the following location:

Business Enrollment Information

If your organization is interested in having the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office provide that service to your employees, please call (720) 874-3929 to set up an account or make an appointment. The Sheriff’s Office will collect one payment up front, which will cover both our fees, as well as CBI’s fees, which will eliminate the individual having to make two separate payments (one to the Sheriff’s Office and one to CBI). Once the prints have been taken, the Sheriff’s Office will immediately send the prints electronically to CBI, who will then forward the results to the designated account administrator for the organization.

Out-of-State Requests

We will continue to do paper and ink fingerprints for out-of-state requests. The fee for these is $25.
