If you are in need of a citizen assist and need a law enforcement officer to standby to keep the peace and you will need less than 15 minutes, please call the law enforcement agency that has jurisdiction for the address where the citizen assist will take place.

If you need longer than 15 minutes, you may contact the Civil Section. The Civil Section Sergeant coordinates between both parties, setting the date and time for a civil standby. There is a minimum $50 fee per hour, which is non-refundable, and only one hour will be scheduled (See fee schedule for complete civil standby fees). If you need more than one hour, please discuss this with the Civil Section Sergeant.

Any civil standby must be scheduled in advance and requires payment at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled date. These will only be scheduled during business hours on weekdays, excluding holidays.
