Clerk and Recorder offices to open at 1 p.m., May 9

The Arapahoe County Clerk and Recorder Branch Offices in Aurora, Centennial and Littleton will be closed 7 a.m. - 1 p.m., May 9 for an annual professional development meeting, and will be open to the public 1 - 4 p.m. The Clerk and Recorder Branch in Byers will be closed for the day.

These temporary closures affect Motor Vehicle, Driver’s License, Recording, Elections and Passport services. All other Arapahoe County offices will keep normal business hours on May 9.

During this time, the Clerk and Recorder’s Office will bring together all 128 employees for training and professional development. It is the only time planned for this purpose in 2017.

“It is critical to find time for professional development for our employees,” said Clerk and Recorder Matt Crane. “We know that an informed and engaged workforce is more likely to stay in their jobs, be more productive and better serve our citizens. Investing in our employees means an investment for our taxpayers.”

During the closure, Arapahoe County’s new Colorado MVExpress kiosks for license plate renewals will be available at AAA Southglenn Office and the Arapahoe County Administration Building in Littleton. Residents can pay by cash (not available at AAA location), check or credit card, and walk away with their registration, receipt and license plate tabs. The kiosks at the Clerk’s Aurora and Centennial Branches also will be available 1-4 p.m., May 9. For more information, visit www.arapahoegov.com/kiosk.

Citizens also visit any State Driver’s License office during the closure, or renew their driver’s license, ID card or license plates online at www.colorado.gov/DMV.
