Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office provides critical public safety services

In fact, about 94 percent of community respondents on a citizen survey indicated that community safety is extremely important. Deputies with the Sheriff’s Office provide law enforcement services for the unincorporated areas of the county and for the cities and towns of Centennial, Foxfield, Bennett and Deer Trail. The combined service area population is approximately 205,895. This is a 21 percent increase over the last 10 years.

The Arapahoe County Sherriff’s Office employs more than 700 people and is responsible for all county policing as well as running the county jail, which is where most individuals convicted of a crime in any city or town in the county serve their sentence. Calls for service, and the seriousness of those calls, have also increased – more than 16 percent in just the last five years – creating an increased demand for resources relative to staffing.
